EPL betting pick: Back Over 2.5 Goals at 1.74 and any unquoted score at 4.8 in Man Utd v Stoke options in the Correct Score market on Betfair in Manchester United v Stoke match that will be played on 04 01 2011
United still aren't playing well by all accounts. This may be the case, but five wins and a draw from their last six games is a big improvement on just three wins in eight at the start of the season. Sir Alex Ferguson's men remain unbeaten this term and they've taken a staggering 28 points from a possible 30 at Old Trafford, scoring an average of 2.7 goals per game - not bad for a team not playing well!
Stoke have been their usual selves this season - hard-working and generally difficult to beat. This is their first away game to a top five side since August however (they lost away to Chelsea at the start of the season) and I fully expect them to leave Manchester empty-handed.
We've got to start by backing Over 2.5 Goals at 1.76 - as I alluded to earlier, United alone have averaged over 2.5 goals in front of their own fans this season whilst Stoke's away games have averaged almost exactly 2.5 goals this term. United scored seven against Blackburn recently and they could and should have scored at least four or five against Sunderland in their last home game. So perhaps a wager on Over 3.5 Goals (2.72) is the way to play with a small bet going on Any Unquoted at 4.8 in the Correct Score market.
